HIV/AIDS Education and Prevention, Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) Clinical Care, Individual and Group Psychosocial Counselling, and Caregiver Savings Groups
Health programming operates on the same principle as our financial systems work: delivery through relationships communities already trust, not models imported from outside them, spanning HIV/AIDS education, prevention, and on-site psychosocial counselling in Uganda and Malawi. Our partnership with Friends Sickle Cell Foundation Uganda (FSFU) extends this into specialized care, medicine access, clinical treatment, and caregiver support, for children living with sickle cell disease in Wakiso and Bugweri districts. Caregivers, most often mothers, also operate their own savings group through FSFU, the same trust-based financial model applied to a health-driven population rather than a separate initiative running alongside it.
Education, prevention, and ongoing support for people living with HIV/AIDS, alongside individual and group psychosocial counselling from on-site Field Officers. Our approach here started by working through mentors communities already trusted, not imported models, and it still does.This also includes our partnership with Friends Sickle Cell Foundation Uganda (FSFU), supporting medicine access, clinical and therapeutic care, and caregiver counselling for children living with sickle cell disease in Wakiso and Bugweri districts.
In the first quarter of 2026 alone, FSFU distributed medicine to 81 sickle cell warriors and delivered 78 individual counselling sessions to caregivers, alongside group workshops that expanded into Bugweri District for the first time. Clinic utilization rose steadily across the quarter, with outpatient care and completed treatments forming the largest share of activity.
